STEP ONE:
TAKE UNWANTED CLOTHING AND SORT / GRADE INTO CATAGORIES. IN THIS CASE DENIM.

AT THIS POINT THE DENIM ITEMS COULD BE DIRECTLY SOLD IN BULK TO BRANDS AND INSTITUITIONS FOR USE IN UPCYCLING.

ITS EXTREMELY CHALLENGING AT THE MOMENT TO SOURCE DENIM FOR UPCYCLING FOR LESS THAN £5 A METER. AND ITS ALSO EXTREMELY CHALLENGING TO FIND THE SPECIFIC COLOURS / TYPE OF FABRIC THATS NEEDED.

CLOGENESIS AIMS TO SORT THIS PROBLEM BY REDUCING THE COST OF UPCYCLED FABRIC UP TO 5x WHILST ALSO MAKING IT POSSIBLE TO SOURCE LARGE AMOUNTS OF SPECIFIC UPCYCLED FABRIC IN BULK.

THIS WOULD LOWER THE BARRIER OF ENTRY FOR BRANDS TO ENTER THE UPCYCLED FASHION MARKET MAKING IT POSSIBLE FOR A MUCH LARGER PERCENTAGE OF THE FASHION MARKET TO BECOME SUSTAINABLE BY USING UPCYCLED FABRICS.
( EXPLAINED FURTHER BELOW ).

STEP 2:
CUT ITEMS INTO INDIVIDUAL PANNELS.

THIS IS A METER OF MEDIUM QUALITY UPCYCLED FABRIC WHICH I WOULD SELL FOR AROUND £1 - £3. TO BUY THE SAME QUANTITY NEW IT WOULD COST AROUND £5 A METER.

MEANING THERE IS A COST INCENTIVE AND NOT JUST A SUSTAINABLE BENEFIT TO USE UPCYCLED FABRIC TO MAKE NEW CLOTHES.

STEP 3:
USE FABRIC TO MAKE INTO NEW PRODUCTS
